Children's Trust Foundation hosted the Council for Children & Families’ meeting for Strengthening Families Washington in Seattle on April 23 and became a part of the national conversation about effective child abuse and neglect prevention programs. At this meeting, the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) presented its Protective Factor framework to a diverse group of leaders. Attendees included pioneers of the early learning and family support communities like Maxine Hayes from the Department of Health, Pat Wells from Seattle Human Services, both Poppy Hansen and Yaffa Martiz from the Council on Children & Families Advisory Council, and others.
As developed by the CSSP, the Protective Factors provide an overriding framework to guide multiple family service delivery systems—including mental health, public health, early education, and family support.
The work is exciting and Children's Trust Foundation is thrilled to be a part of the Strengthening Families Washington Steering Committee. The conversation is a national one that Children’s Trust Foundation is eager to share with you this year as we forge strong partnerships across Washington.
